Florida Water is a sacred staple within holistic and spiritual traditions.   It is used as a blessing, cleansing, and protective agent.  Practitioners regard it as living water, charged with positive intention and spirit. Historically, it has been used as a cleansing agent for the mind, body, and household; helping to remove negative energies and restore balance.  It was used to anoint tools, altars, and sacred spaces for blessings and ancestral work.

Florida Water can be added to floor washes, spiritual baths, to anoint the body and sacred tools and as an ancestral offering.  
As an herbalist and metaphysical practitioner, I have spent many hours researching recipes to create formularies that are true to their folk history. Traditionally, Florida Water was infused in backwater kitchens, using folk medicine methods to create tinctures with ingredients like those pictured here. Although, the herbal components differed slightly by area due to what was on hand at the time.
